With so much falsehood in fashion advertising, just how much are we affecting the minds of the younger generation? Magazines, billboards and other print media push an unattainable fantasy world upon us. So when laws are being considered to have publications clearly label ‘Photoshopped’ images, personally, I’m all for that.

A path for our sins

Graphic design can be such a rewarding profession. We, as designers, see our creative ideas come to life through a wide range of media, feeling a sense of pride when others use our work to showcase their companies.

It can also, however, be the cause of unrelenting frustration, dealing with ‘design by committee’, and clients who, no matter how much you educate them to the contrary, will never utilise the full benefits of our experience.

What is it then, that drives us to foresake more highly-paid occupations for a role that can often go unrewarded?
