Brand identity design
With care and attention, a company’s visual image builds trust and confidence. Not only with customers, but with team members, partners, investors — anyone who plays a part. The logo is key, but it should always be considered with the broader visual identity in mind.
The preparation of guidelines keeps the appearance consistent wherever a brand is seen. With time, this strengthens the identity and avoids the need for unnecessary customisation, because certain design attributes have been established and don’t need rethought for new marketing pieces.
From an hour on a phone or video call to site visits with report preparation. I can advise on how to elevate your brand from a design perspective, or give feedback on pre-designed ideas to help bring team opinions together.
In 2008 and 2010 I launched my two design blogs Logo Design Love & Identity Designed. Their pages have had millions of views, resulting in publishing deals to write and design their accompanying books.
The Logo Design Love book was first published in 2009. It’s available in thirteen languages, an expanded edition (2014), and is now listed as recommended reading on college design programmes around the world.
The Identity Designed book was published in 2019, and in the words of Adobe’s principal designer, Khoi Vinh, it’s, “not just beautifully designed, but also beautiful in its depth and detail about the identity design process.”

David’s knowledge and understanding of branding is exceptional. I first shared my thoughts in what can best be described as a stream of consciousness, and he magically conjured them into a powerful brand identity. I asked for both emotional and professional — it’s spot on. The process itself was also communicative, streamlined and enjoyable. I’d recommend David in a heartbeat.

We had been looking for a graphic designer for several months, but the previous ones I spoke to never met our taste. Finally, when I discovered David through a Google search, it appeared likely that such a passionate designer would be the partner we had been looking for — which became obvious as soon as we started working together. After reviewing our requirements, David sent us a few proposals and, taking great care, created numerous modifications. Most importantly, each modification introduced that special detail that makes all the difference.

David’s combination of creativity and professionalism was exactly what we needed. Our team had strong opinions on the project. David was able to take their feedback on board and steer us toward an outcome we are proud of.

We wanted a logo with a touch of modernism. David grasped our needs and produced a stunning design. When feedback was needed, new versions or modifications were made very quickly. We greatly appreciated David’s flexibility and efficiency, and it was excellent to work with someone so open-minded and responsive.
