Brand identity design
With care and attention, a company’s visual image builds trust and confidence. Not only with customers, but with team members, partners, investors — anyone who plays a part. The logo is key, but it should always be considered with the broader visual identity in mind.
The preparation of guidelines keeps the appearance consistent wherever a brand is seen. With time, this strengthens the identity and avoids the need for unnecessary customisation, because certain design attributes have been established and don’t need rethought for new marketing pieces.

In 2008 and 2010 I launched the design websites Logo Design Love & Identity Designed. Their pages have had millions of views, resulting in publishing deals to write and design their accompanying books.
The Logo Design Love book was first published in 2009. It’s available in thirteen languages, an expanded edition (2014), and is now listed as recommended reading on college design programmes around the world.
The Identity Designed book was published in 2019, and in the words of Adobe’s principal designer, Khoi Vinh, it’s, “not just beautifully designed, but also beautiful in its depth and detail about the identity design process.”
