Why do I blog?

In case you didn’t know, “the blogosphere is hot”, and good friend Dawud asked why I blog, so here’s my answer.
I enjoy sharing what I’m passionate about — all things creative (adgoodness is a nice place to stop by for a drink of creativity).
It’s a good way to build my brand and learn from readers (Small Business Branding is a nice resource that I’ve learned a thing or two from).
I’ve been able to strike up conversations with so many like-minded people that I otherwise wouldn’t have (MyBlogLog community has helped a fair bit in this respect — group hug).
I learn at the very least one new thing every day (today for instance I learned that Jesus Votes for Sausage — a vital addition to my knowledge arsenal).
Additionally, Scotland is extremely cold at this time of year so Portobello Beach isn’t great for a dip.
Here’s where I mention a few blogs that get me thinking.
- Michael Surtees and his Design Notes blog.
- David the Designer (don’t call him Dave).
- Susan Jones and her Out On The Coast photography.
- Ed Roach from the Branding Experts.
- DT at Design Sojourn (lurking somewhere in Singapore or Sydney).
- Chris and his Scottish-based Blog-Op.
One other thing, I was recently presented with a Thinking Blogger Award by Ilker, and couldn’t finish this post without saying thank you.

David. I see you’ve passed on the tag. Great. Let’s see if it comes back around…
Thanks David! Does this mean you will not post about the 5 blogs that make you think?
Hello ilker, I thought I’d combine the two topics by writing about why I blog and also linking to a few other blogs that make me think.
It’s great to know that you enjoy the articles I post. Thanks again.
me – I have no idea. I think I just wanted to have a go at setting up a website, doing some code, all that stuff.

Initially I started blogging to develope a profile and promote my business. But almost two months in, I’m finding it to be an invaluable resource. I enjoy the communication and now I am discovering that I can get feed back on project issues as well.
Blogging appears to be beneficial on multiple levels.
