$5000 college web design scholarship

CollegeScholarships.org are offering the princely sum of $5,000 to the winner of their student web design contest.
Scholarship requirements:
- You must be a US citizen (although as around 50% of my readers are in the US I thought this an appropriate post)
- You need to be a current full-time student in post-secondary education
- If you win, you must be willing to allow College Scholarships to list your name, picture, and website on their contest page
The submitted design must be in the form of a WordPress theme template, and I’ve been joined by some very experienced people to decide upon the winner. Here’s the full list of judges:
Current Judges:
- Paul Stamatiou
- David Airey
- Steve Smith
- Darius A Monsef IV
- Bryan Veloso
- Darren Rowse
- Jonathan Snook
- Patrick Haney
- Chris Pearson
- Ashley Moore
- John Rockwell
- Andreas Viklund
The deadline:
Entrants have until midnight PST on Monday, August 13th, 2007 to make their submission. The winner will be announced on Monday, August 20th, 2007 … just in time for the fall semester.
Good luck to all who enter!

David, Congratulations with being selected to be in this jury… but how did you actually end up there in the first place?
I’m not a US citizen though, so can’t participate ;-)
Hi Vivien, I was contacted by Daniel who’s providing the scholarship. He found me through my blog. I think it’s a great opportunity for US design students — one I would’ve loved to have gone in for.
Ah! 8 months too late! That would’ve been a nice relief from student loans. I hope some of your readers will be able to use this!
So last week I was working hard to get this layout done, but then I looked and it said 18th. Well after coming back here, I can see it was the 13th as I had originally thought. GRR.. I thought I had lost my mind at the age of 18. I just submitted my layout… now I only have to wait 2 days to see the results. David, make sure to give me advice after the fact.
Hi Dan, good luck! I’ll be sure to let you know my thoughts. As for the deadline, the organiser needed to move the date after I published this article. Sorry for any confusion.
