Here’s me out for a game of pool with my girlfriend, Catherine (above). This photo was taken just before we started playing, which is more suitable than showing us fighting when I wouldn’t let Cat win.

Your positive comments on each participant’s blogs / websites are a joy to read. If you’re interested in joining in and adding a personal touch to your online publishing, do let us know so we can share in your past / present experiences.

  1. Well done David, and everybody who’s participated! It’s been absolutely fascinating ‘meeting’ all the people whose blogs I read daily!

Definitely one of the best memes in recent history! ;)

  2. This is a really great idea.. not just the viral aspect of it but that you make an update and collect all of them in one post. Kudos!

  3. I really must get round to doing this. I wish I could beat my girlfriend at pool, she’s a bit of a hustler when comes to things like that!

  4. It was a genius idea David – as I said in my post, probably my favorite meme of all time.

  5. David, I love this idea. Why didn’t I think of it? ;) Anyway, I’ll join your project soon… because I believe in business with a personal touch.

  6. Paul, Ilker, Randa,

    Thanks so much!

    Jamie,

Maybe I should take a leaf out of your book and throw a few games? It’s just against my nature so doesn’t come easily. Would love to see a personal contribution from you!

    Mihaela,

I too believe in a personal approach to business. Let me know when you get around to joining in so I can take a peek into the personal PR!

  7. Hi David! I am back again. My photos are online now… I linked back to your original post, so you should be able to find my link in your technorati dashboard. :)

  8. Wow, that’s a lot of entries! I wish I could’ve got in on this, but I couldn’t find any decent pictures I could’ve used lol.

  9. Thanks for the reminder. I’ve just started writing mine.

  10. Thanks Mig!

I’ve taken a look, left you a comment and added you to the original list.

    Sean,

Not to worry mate. Thanks, as always, for stopping by my website.

    Tara,

A very deserved addition to the original list, considering your extremely valid reservations.

    Johno,

    Looking forward to your article!

  11. It is a great project, featuring some very interesting and amazing personalities of the blogiverse.

Hey, David, would it be ok to post my pictures from past, showing how I looked when I was a baby? :-)

  12. Even though the experiment is over, I went ahead and did a post today about your Face Behind the Blog meme. This is the link to it if you would like to take a look. :)

  13. David, it’s a good thing that you started with this meme. It’s really helped me feel like I know a few bloggers more.

Yet I, too, had reservations about posting images of my wife and kids. I know way too much about the negative side of the web to feel comfortable.

And, I wanted people to get to know me a bit more. What I’ll likely do is take my kids images down in a couple of weeks and replace them with some Photoshoped version that looks more like artwork than a photograph.

  14. Vivien,

Of course! Please do post photos of you in your younger years. I think it’d be amusing to see you as a baby. ;)

    Carol,

The meme hasn’t finished. In fact it something that anyone can take up at any time, whether they make it a part of this collection or not. I think it’s nice for authors to show their readers a little personal insight into their lives. Thanks for joining in! I’ve linked to you in the original post.

    Dawud,

It makes me happy that others are enjoying seeing the face behind their favourite blogs. Those reservations are completely understandable, so by all means edit your post until you’re comfortable with it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope the weekend is going well for you and the family.

  15. Thanks for visiting my blog David, and for “admiring” my hair. ;)

  16. Haha, it was entirely my pleasure.

  17. Hey that’s so nice! Can I also take part David ?

  18. Of course, RomeoAngel!

It’d be great to see the face behind your blog. No need to ask.

Let me know when your post is live and I’ll add a link to your site from the original post.

  19. I saw your post on Andy Beard Niche Marketing so I thought I would check your site out.

I think that this is a very cool idea. Blogging has that radio mystique about it – you learn about people, sometimes intimate information but you have no idea what they look like.

  20. Thomas,

Thanks for visiting, and for letting me know where you found me. Andy’s marketing site is one of my favourite reads.

Should you decide to post a ‘face behind the blog’ article please do let me know! I’ll add you to the original list of participants to help spread the word.

    Bye for now.

  21. David, it’s not often that I jump on the meme post bandwagon but this one really appealed to me and I’m so glad I joined in! Kudos!!
