The barbed wire and Macdonalds made me laugh. Not sure Johnson's baby lotion will make it to any TV or print advert anytime soon.

Still not as bad as some ads I've seen over the years.

'Piano tuition' and especially 'ironing service' are great examples of creating eye catching ads with next to no extra budget. I look forward more to these awards than those from AD&D these days - much less predictable!

Matt,

Your 'stepping away from the keyboard' tip is one I need to heed too. It's easy to get stuck.

Will make a note to check out The Gruen Transfer. Cheers, Jacob.

Real posters, Vim, though not sure if the McDonald's one has been Photoshopped, and the others didn't necessarily run.

Always a good thing for a bit of humor first thing in the morning, i like the Barbwire ad and the MacDonald ad. Are these real posters or obviously manipulated?

D-fence takes just a second or two before it hits you. One of the reasons why ad guys don't run humour is that it detracts from the central message.

Very funny. It's always refreshing to see ads that are so amusing. These surely get more attention than a traditional ad.

I remember you posting about this last year... some great and shocking work here. The massdebates one is clever but I like the barbed wire one out the ones showcased here. I also like the Gruen Transfer and is one of the only shows I watch on TV. You can get episodes via podcast for free on their site if you are interested, I think you would enjoy them:
