When did you last thank your readers?

thank you

Thank you for visiting, for reading, for commenting, for critiquing, for subscribing, for mentioning me elsewhere.

Whilst I spend a week or two recovering from hand ligament damage, and the joys of single digit typing, I want you to know that this blog of mine would be a much lonelier place without you.

When was the last time you thanked your readers?

  4. Yes, thanks to you, David. Love the Arnhem Black :)
Hope the hand (and the man attached to it) makes a full recovery.

Also like that you have a “thank you” in the footer.

  5. Hope you make a full recovery soon, David. Gotta make sure those moneymakers are in top shape!

  6. Ouch, hope it’s healing nicely David. No need for thanks as far as I’m concerned – except to thank you.

  7. Thank you for writing, for entertaining, for inspiring us. Keep it up and we’ll keep coming back.

Hope your ligament heals up soon. Been there a number of times and it ain’t pretty.

  8. Hand ligament damage, eh? Sounds very suspicious!

Hope you have a speedy recovery and are back in action asap.

  9. I keep track of all the posts on my blog and always make a point to thank the people who do stop by and actually comment.

  10. Glen, James, Eric, Lucian,

    Thanks!

    John,

It’s very nice, that Arnhem (no surprise you spotted it), and glad you like the footer comment.

    Gio,

The hand injury got me thinking about insurance, as they are indeed my moneymakers.

    Steve,

The bruising is coming up nicely, showing some wonderfully complimentary purples and yellows.

    Aaron,

Nothing suspicious, sorry to say, just another footballing injury to add to the list.

    Doug,

    Great habit you’ve got there.

    Thanks for the wellwishes, everyone!

  11. Hey David,

Best of luck recovering from your injury!

I never thought of thanking my readers. Thank you for reminding us that readers are the most important part of a blog.

    Cheers!

  12. Thanks to you as well David.

… Many people asked me about how they can improve themselves in designing and all I can say to them is to keep on reading good web blogs. And you’re on the list.

    Keep posting. Cheers

  13. Sice I founded the LogoBR I always had attention with my readers and always say thanks. It’s very very important to blog grow up!

    Congratulations David
    Regards

    Daniel

  14. Hope the hand heals quickly!

  15. Great post David. Thanks for reminding too. Get well soon!!!

  16. I like the independent perspective you have, so thank you for taking the trouble of keeping this going.

  17. Thanks very much, everyone!

  18. Enjoy the rest, David. No doubt there will be plenty to keep you busy when you’re back on board.

  19. Hope it’s a speedy recovery David! Should I get you a voice recognition typing device for your computer this Christmas?!

I recently thanked my readers on twitter and also apologized for the lack of new posts during June and July!

Getting back to normal now. Keep it elevated!

  20. Well I hope that injury was at least blocking a goal or something worthwhile ;) Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

  21. Sounds painful!

And not at all ideal for a designer!

    Hope it gets better soon!

  22. David,
Thank you for your great articles and thoughts.

  23. Tracey,

There are a few projects already lined up, so all’s well besides the injury, thanks.

    Brian,

It’s funny, I’d considered voice recognition when I first hurt myself. I’ll be back to normal soon enough though, so you can get me something different for Christmas. ;)

    Lauren,

My team won the match convincingly. I put it down to my injury distracting the opposition. Thanks for the wishes.

    Shaun, Niyaz,

Good of you both to say.

  24. This is a great idea, I don’t think I’ve ever thanked my readers –
    Hope you recover quickly!

  25. Good point.

I think the Blogger Appreciation Day does a bit of this too.

Football requires a few injuries from time to time ;)

  26. Hey David,
I’ve been a passive reader on your site.
Just want to thank you for all you share. I’ve never been so excited about graphic design (especially logos) since I stumbled upon your site.
    Keep doing your great work.
    Cheers.

  27. What? All three of them? lol …. ;)

Sorry to hear about your hand, maybe this year old blog of mine will provide a good laugh about ‘hand damage’ – mine was more related to wine drinking than anything else more noble such as design….

    http://trulyace.com/blog/general-musings-on-life/insuring-my-hand/

Maybe it’s time to insure your hand? If you haven’t already that is :)

  28. Sheila, Tobok,

    Thanks very much.

    Dennis,

It’s certainly not the first time football has left me in pain, and I doubt it’ll be the last. Do you play?

    Amanda,

You’re too modest. I’ve wondered about insurance, as a break would’ve set me back a lot longer. Did you go ahead with insurance? I was talking to Aaron about this recently.

  29. Nope I didn’t go ahead with insurance – but most people don’t do they, even when it’s their profession.

I perhaps should really, we all should.

  30. Hello David,
I am sorry to hear about your hand. I hope you get well very soon.
This entry just show the “handsome soul of the ARTIST inside you.
    Best wishes

  31. Well, you’re quite welcome! Thanks for making interesting images to look at!

  32. Amanda,

I’m with you there. I think we all should (opt for insurance).

    Adbul, David,

    Thanks to you both.

  33. David, your’s idea is great! Courtesy in web is seldom fact.
    Big thank from Russia! ;-)

  34. Thanks for these nice postings David.
As I was thinking about this: When did I last thank my readers, I remembered that I actually did once or twice!
At the end of the year 2006 I designed a calendar/poster for 2007. 470 x 1000 mm. I had a small print shop print it for free and had my logo and theirs on the poster.
Then I offered it to my readers as a thank for loyalty and reading, but they had to visit the print shop to get it. Most of those who asked for the calendar had a nice talk with the guys at the print shop about printing and business. So, everyone gained.

If you are interested, the posting about the calendar is here: http://font.is/?p=34

  35. Sigurdur,

That’s a very nice gesture of appreciation you offered. My foreign language skills aren’t good, so I’m glad you explained it here.

  36. Very nice of you to write this post, I didn’t see it directly because it got skipped over with the new posts. Wanted to say I’m happy that there are bloggers like you out there that would take some time and write a thank you to his blog readers. And your welcome btw!

  37. It’s my pleasure, Sarah. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Reader interaction definitely helps motivate me to continue.

  38. I really like that you put your readers first and always take the time to reply to comments whenever possible. I think the davidairey.com blog is my favorite of all the design blogs I submit comments on. Thanks for providing an excellent online resource.

  39. Don’t mention it, bubble. I hope you’re enjoying the archives.
