Star Wars Advertising on the cheap

How about this for making the most of your advertising spend? Remove the front panel of the display case to uncover the tube lights beneath. Are they light sabers? Do they represent the III of Episode III? Nice work from the enVision Agency in Denmark (via advertising for peanuts).
Personally however, I think there’s no better Star Wars advertising that that of the Star Wars Kid!
Here I show you the original unedited version (1 minute 48 seconds) followed by the all-action edited trailor (34 seconds).
Stunning. Just stunning.

Hahaha.. this kid cracks me up!
Excellent ad.
Poor old SWK – there are some excellent parodies of this around :-)
The SWK made me very grateful that digicams and YouTube weren’t around when I was growing up in the 70′s. God knows every boy with imagination could’ve been put on that same pedestal. I always felt a little guilty laughing at the lad.
But – the spinoff’s created by its publication were in some cases astounding and showed remarkable creativity.
The Braveheart parody was my favorite.
That was comical….
My fav light saber fight however has to be ryan vs dorkman, You’ll almost think you were actually watching a starwars production

That is amazing. One day, I will be able to edit video…
I just wish there were more hours in the day :0)
Fantastic ad – really clever.
I always feel somewhat bad watching this kid. I still laugh though…but there is a twinge of sympathy…
Too darn cute! Gotta love the kiddo!
TPB, I fully agree. If my childhood antics were captured on video camera I’d most likely be an introvert by now.
Tolumi, I hadn’t seen that clip before. Excellent use of software!
Thanks for the comments everyone.
I remember when this video came out, was a gut-buster.
Very Very clever ad. The simplicity is very nice.
Like Lorissa, I couldn’t help but feel a little bit of sympathy for the kid in the Stars Wars video lol:)
You have to love the StarWars kid. Love the ad though, nice bending of the rules.
Great!
Nice effects on the second video!
HAHA I love the Star Wars Kid! There are so many edited versions of it to, it’s awesome.
That’s a pretty cool ad. When I first say it I was a little confused, but after reading what you had said it all makes sense. Very smart and interesting ad.
I haven’t seem the SWK for a while now…it’s still funny as.

BTW, the star wars ad pic is not appearing – I can see it fine on the original site though.

That’s odd, goldcoaster. It seems fine for me. Let me know if there’s still a problem if you return to read this.
Thanks.
That is one of the best versions! Still hillarious.
I laugh every time, Dan. ;)
