Repetition
“A single image is okay.

“But that same image, when multiplied a number of times, is often irresistible.”
— BOB GILL

Here are a few words on just one of Gill’s books: Graphic Design as a Second Language.

I would say Bob Gill is definitely on to something! I think he and Warhol would have been great friends. I can just picture them now, sitting around a table with Marilyn Monroe sipping on some Campbell’s Tomato Soup. :-)
Interesting, maybe designers should display their portfolios this way ;)
More is more! Simple trick and brilliant outcome!
I’m a huge fan of Bob Gill. I got my business card signed by Bob, Alan Fletcher and Colin Forbes at a lecture once. The way he thinks is so simple, so clear. Every designer should know about Bob Gill and have at least one of this books.
Hi Danae, I never saw the fascination with Warhol’s screen prints. They were colourful, and nice to look at, but I thought they were given too much credit. Nice association, though. Perhaps the most appropriate available.
Do you still have the card, Lee? That’d be a nice memento.
People are drawn to patterns, especially if your pattern has a pretty face and nice contrast.
I totally agree! It’s almost an optical illusion, i fell into the picture.
