That is quite shocking. I keep looking at the logo wondering if I am missing something but even if it has a clever concept it still looks unattractive. They could have done so much better and this was an excellent opportunity. I also agree though that it is not as bad as the London 2012 logo. I do not really like to criticise to heavily the work of other logo designers but I am sure that Landor could provide a better solution than this. I agree with John at Social Design, his Is more friendly! Years ago, Tim Girvin in Seatle did a Ci job of sorts on italy for Bloomingdales, it was VASTLY superior to this. I think the committee here was filled with old school communists who were looking back to the GRAND job Landor did with AlItalia Airlines (some 30 years ago, still flying thank you.) This logo is pathetic, the bodoni i, and the fairway, have NOTHING to do with Italy. she is much "prettier" than this! ....Goldcoaster "think again, there were probably some grand entries, and the committee is simply stupid and tastless, that is new?
