How to use typography in music videos

Typography can be seen all around us, in almost every aspect of our lives. There’s a music video, called ‘The Child’ for French DJ Alex Gopher, which was created back in 1999 and it’s definitely worth a look if you haven’t seen it already. In fact, even if you have it’s still enjoyable.
The video is made entirely from typefaces and revolves around a pregnant woman being rushed to a New York City hospital in the back of a taxi.
Antoine Bardou-Jacquet is the man credited with the work. Here’s a short biography if you’re interested.
A big thanks to Pedro at type for you – a blog on typography for reminding me of this one.

Ah I remember seeing this but couldn’t remember any details about it, thank you for jogging my brain.
This is my first glimpse of the ad. I liked the music a LOT. Personally, coming fom the IM generation, I felt that the ad ran too long..
I liked the juxtaposition of conversation into the background music, enough to tell the story.
And of course the Typography ties it all together. Tres Bien!
Very interesting ,although that i couldnt reach because blogspot.com sold its conscience and banned itself from my city .But i discovered utube.com and saw the videography and will not forget to invite you to enjoy my videos that i post there .so far so .
this is a great clip. is it too expensive to do something like this on a budget?
I’m sure it cost a healthy chunk, but it’d all depend on your own production skills.

Thanks Andrew,
I’ve actually mentioned that web page in a later blog post. It’s fantastic!
David, my good man, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
I have been seeking to identify this video for well over a decade, ever since I saw this piece during a late-night slot on UK’s MTV2, back when I was still in my teens!
Countless moments of scratching my head over the years have finally been laid to rest, and I can safely say it has been worth it – still such a wonderful style to it, and I can look into the artist’s music now.
Honestly, please accept a huge ‘Thank You’ for pointing this video out. I’ll now be showing this video to all my friends!
Siri,
It’s a pleasure to put a stop to years of head scratching. Thanks for the visit.
