Free web-based applications

We’re in a world where we can increasingly move from office-space to office-space, using a lot more than just one computer for the work we do, be it creative or otherwise. This is largely due to web-based applications and the ability to store personal information online.
This post over at Healthy WebDesign by Dawud Miracle (one of the sites I subscribe to) prompted me to mention it.
Wordpress, Feedburner, Gmail, Google Analytics and others are on the list. One difference of opinion I have however is with Dawud’s mention of Skype, especially with them recently raising their rates. I prefer, and recommend, using VOIPCheap for making extremely low-cost overseas calls on the internet. Okay, so it’s not quite free, but it’s certainly not far-off. For a £10 subscription charge you can call overseas landlines for free for 120 days. It helps me to effectively communicate with those clients that I haven’t yet met face-to-face.
The world is a lot more flat these days than it used to be.
Thanks for the previous posts’ comments: Chris.

VOIPCheap huh? I’ve heard of it, along with a bunch of others, but have opted for Skype just because I’ve used it for a long time. I’ll give VOIPCheap a look. Thanks for the heads up.
Nice list he’s got. I would currently have to add bubbl.us. I’m terribly addicted, finding it useful for GTD type organizing.
By the way, great site.
GTD?
I’ll check that site out, as I mentioned on your blog.
