This site is for a graphic designer turned food photographer. It is VERY clean and robust. It also has contact info and I am thinking about doing this for my portfolio site now that I have won some awards.

And why is it that photographers have the coolest sites?

Thanks for stopping by Jonathan.

I'll send you a short email as I'm interested to know how user-friendly a Flash CMS actually is, and what capabilities can be incorporated.

David,

I found a link to your site and wanted to touch base. It turns out that I'm part of the team that built the back end functionality for Leo Burnett as the system is powered by our content management system. We've been quite busy recently so we haven't had time to delve into our own site but that will be forthcoming over the next little while. the core offering of our firm is a CMS for flash and rich media and we use the burnett site as a showcase due to the global recognition it achieved.

I'll be out of the office for the next little while on a business trip but feel free to touch base if you have any questions and I'll be more than happy to fill you in on details.

Regards,

Jonathan

David! You do get around. Very interesting. Reminds me of the mouse trail script we first learned in C, with fractal like connectors instead of straight lines. I totally agree with Mark Wilson's comment though. Lots of "Flash" is there content?

When I go to a site I want to get straight to message-- for instance, if it's cluttered up with Adsense ads, I lose interest and leave quickly because I can't find the purpose in the site. You don't want to spend time trying to figure out the site.

Yeah, I found that strange too. Anyone that knows anything about the web would surely not advertise IE, unless they use IE dependant code...

Hey Pinksy, that Marston Hotels site does seem well constructed and user-friendly. The rotating flash images are obviously professionally taken too.

What I thought strange about it was how the designers chose to put a link at the foot of each page saying 'Get Internet Explorer'. Why do you think someone would do that?

If a person is viewing the site on a PC, then by default they'll be using IE. If they're on a mac then they'll be using Safari, which in my opinion is better than IE anyway.

For simplicity and tidyness, on a totally random subject, I saw this one today: http://www.marstonhotels.com/. I really like it. It just looks really properly done.
