How to effectively advertise musicians

How do you advertise an event that features some of the world’s finest musicians? Simple. With a stunning piece of visual artistry.

This video sequence (embedded above) is stunning, and I love how it subtly highlights the names of each musician in time to the classical piano music. The musicians mentioned will be making an appearance at the Junge Wilde event in Germany this September, and the advert is the work of German ad agency Jung von Matt / Elbe.

It has been developed for a new print and online campaign, advertising the highly renowned Konzerthaus Dortmund (Philharmonie für Westfalen) where the Junge Wilde event is taking place.

  1. Nice piece, I like the piano bit in particular. Just developing a website for band at the moment, but their a little more scooter/Mod/Pop/60’s than classical, not sure the budget would stretch anyway!

  2. Cool video – I wonder how they came up with the concept? Generally advertising for music events is rather simplistic, so this makes quite a change from the norm. Good stuff :)

  3. Love the typography. It really reminds me of some orange squash adverts (though done in a much upmarket manner) where orange squash gets poured into a glass and becomes a character swirling around in the water.

  4. Wow! Even the Philharmonic is going high tech! Personally, I hope they never incorporate the high tech into the performances… promotions are fine… but for the music… pure.

  5. vvvvvvery nnnnnnnice video. I love the colours, the wash out ink effects, the synchronization with the music – very beautifully done!

  6. Thanks for your comments everyone.

Tara, now you mention it I can see those Squash drink ads. Nice recollection.

Calvin, I agree that the music is best left pure. I’m partial to a little classical music now and again.

  7. really nice video and music.
