Wow, I'm SO going to have that accent in my head the next time I read your blog posts. Props to believing that the web can still be personal and human, and great job on the first video :)

Hey David,

Man I've been reading your blog for a while and I was waiting to hear what you sounded like since I like the way you write - its kinda calming. I was reading a post about your own logo design process and found this. Love your blog. I actually came up on your site by reading up on all the spec-watch stuff and logodesignlove. (Both of which I read since I just recently discovered 99designs and attempted it and got really annoyed by the whole thing.)

I'm trying to come up with my own logo but right now I only have a preliminary draft. I'm also trying to come up with a wordpress blog of my own (I used to be really good at wordpress but then I lost track of it for a couple of years due to my college studies).

I follow your blog regularly. =) Thank you for all the great posts.
P.S. It's awesome you've been to India. I'm from India but I came to the states when I was only 6... went back last year and it was amazing and quite different.

Hi Mark, there's no denying that a good design degree will help, but whether it's necessary depends entirely upon your current skills, and how motivated you are towards self-teaching. Another option is to spend shorter periods of time gaining experience through internships. If you can, take a degree, but whatever you choose, all the best with it.

Hi David.

I just recently discovered your site and I became an instant fan. I've been doing graphic design for three years but never had a formal background in a design school. I had the chance to enroll in a graphic design certificate course for three months and actually finished with honors but I'm wondering if you would advice me to go back to school and take a degree course all over again.

Thanks.

Yes indeed I do still go on Ecademy, and yes I do get leads and clients from Ecademy. The amount I get tends to relate to how much time I put into it.

I spend less time there than I used to so I get less of my clients from Ecademy nowadays, but at one point over 50% of my clients came from Ecademy in the days when I was on there for at least an hour a day.
